The Citizens Crime Commission of Portland is a 501(c)(3) non-profit citizen organization founded in 1988. We are affiliated with the Portland Business Alliance’s Charitable Trust. For more than two decades, we have provided leadership in the complex fight against the root causes of crime by working with businesses, citizens, government officials, criminal justice professionals and lawmakers to make Oregon’s state and local efforts more successful and accountable.
As the leading voice for public safety, our mission is to engage business leaders in mobilizing citizens to reduce crime, improve civility and strengthen communities throughout Portland and the State of Oregon. This is achieved through our four core initiatives.
1. Uniting Leaders to Build Safer Communities – convening, collaborating and creating solutions for civility.
2. Advocates for a Better Justice System – continuing to be the leading voice for public safety.
3. Looking Beyond the Symptoms – actively addressing the roots to crime.
4. On the Front Lines of Business Security – combating cyber and physical plant threats to keep organizations safe.
