Citizens Crime Commission Business Security Exchange unites local law enforcement with business leaders to assess cyber security

Last week, the Crime Commission Business Security Exchange held its quarterly meeting hosted by Miller Nash. FBI Cyber Squad Supervisor, George Chamberlin, provided a local threat and situational summary to the members. The FBI has taken the lead in establishing a collaborative Oregon Cyber Task Force made up of local law enforcement detectives, FBI, Secret Service and Army Corps personnel. This task force provides a single point of entry for businesses to access law enforcement investigation resources and expertise in the event of a data breach or other electronic crimes. See the flyer here for contact information and description of the task force.

The committee endorsed holding a Crime Commission spotlight event this fall to highlight the existence of this important local resource for businesses and present information about the efforts businesses can take to prepare for a critical incident.
